How does
Totally CALCIUM® work?
Passive diffusion sites located in the latter part of the small intestine absorb maximum amounts of calcium in an alkaline pH. Soluble chelated calcium present in Totally CALCIUM® remains soluble in alkaline pH environments. All other inorganic calcium salts like carbonate, phosphate, etc. are not soluble in an alkaline pH. The absorption of calcium at passive diffusion sites does not depend on the presence of Vitamin D, hormones, stomach acid, dosage level, or age.
The presence of probiotic bacteria in the intestine prevents phytic acid from binding with calcium. Calcium that binds with phytic acid is not available to the body, making probiotic bacteria essential for calcium absorption. Ingredients in Totally CALCIUM® create a favorable environment in the intestine for the growth of probiotic bacteria.

do we need?
Daily calcium requirements can vary from person to person. It is recommended that adults consume 1,000 mg of calcium per day, which can even increase to 1,200 mg per day for women over 50 and men over 70.
